Getting your API Access Token

Connecting to Apigee requires you to be authenticated, and Apigee uses bearer access tokens. These do not last long, so you will need a new one each time you want to run the conversion.

For Apigee Edge, ideally you should use a machine account and retrieve an access token that way. You can also do this by copying the value in the access_token cookie for the apigee.com domain - accessible via your browser Developer Tools, normally Ctrl+Shift+I

Apigee X uses the standard GCP cli - a command such as: gcloud auth print-access-token

The Apigee statistics and reports have limited options. This process calls the standard Stats API for the environments for each day in the specified range, and summarises the totals. This works for Apigee Edge or Apigee X, and if a relative date range is used then that is applied each time this converter is run.

Hope this is not too annoying, but this helps to keep your information safe & sound!
